Shedeur Sanders Speaks After Not Getting Drafted In The First Round of the 2025 NFL Draft

Shedeur Sanders, the standout quarterback from Colorado, addressed the media following the conclusion of the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, where his name was surprisingly not called. Despite the disappointment, Sanders remained poised and optimistic about his future in the league.
“Of course, I wanted to hear my name called tonight,” Sanders said. “But this is just part of the journey. I’ve been doubted before, and I’ve always used it as motivation. My focus is on being ready to prove myself to whichever team gives me the opportunity.”
Sanders, who had a stellar college career under his father and head coach Deion Sanders at Colorado, was widely projected to be a first-round pick after leading the Buffaloes to multiple high-profile victories and setting numerous school records. His strong arm, leadership qualities, and football IQ had analysts praising his NFL potential.
When asked about his mindset moving forward, Sanders emphasized his commitment to the game. “I’ve worked hard to get here, and I’ll keep working. This is just fuel to the fire. I’m ready to show what I can do on the next level.”
Though he wasn’t selected in the first round, many experts believe Sanders won’t have to wait long to hear his name called as the draft continues. For now, Sanders remains focused and determined to make an impact in the NFL, regardless of his draft position.
